Clear Aligners in Tirana, Albania
Straighten your teeth discreetly with removable transparent aligners — no metal brackets, no wires, no visible hardware. Digital treatment planning, precise results, and up to 65% less than Western European prices.

Are you putting off straightening your teeth?
Most adults who want straighter teeth are not doing anything about it — because they don't want metal braces. Clear aligners remove every reason to wait.
Crowded or Overlapping Teeth
Teeth that overlap or sit behind each other — making cleaning difficult and affecting your smile's appearance.
Gaps Between Teeth
Spaces that affect your smile symmetry and make food packing more likely — closed gradually and precisely.
Bite Problems
Overbite, underbite, crossbite, or open bite — most mild to moderate bite issues are treatable with aligners alone.
Post-Braces Relapse
Teeth that were previously straight but have shifted over time — one of the most common and most treatable presentations.

What are clear aligners?
Clear aligners are a series of custom-made, transparent plastic trays that gradually shift your teeth into their correct position. Each tray is worn for approximately one to two weeks, then replaced by the next in the series. Treatment typically takes 6 to 18 months depending on the complexity of your case.
Unlike fixed metal braces, aligners are fully removable — you take them out to eat, drink, brush, and floss. When worn as directed (20 to 22 hours per day), they deliver precise, predictable results confirmed by digital 3D planning before treatment even begins.
- Nearly invisible — undetectable in normal conversation
- Fully removable — eat and drink without restriction
- 3D digital simulation — see your final result before you start
- No food restrictions, no bracket emergencies
- Digital intraoral scan — no messy impression material
- Remote check-in compatible — most progress monitored online
Why most adults choose aligners over braces
Both options straighten teeth effectively. The choice comes down to lifestyle, visibility, and the complexity of the case. Here is how they compare across the factors that matter most to adult patients.
Clear Aligners
Most popular| Visibility | Nearly invisible |
| Removable | Yes — for eating & cleaning |
| Comfort | Smooth plastic, no sharp edges |
| Food restrictions | None |
| Oral hygiene | Normal brushing & flossing |
| Check-up frequency | Every 6–8 weeks |
| Treatment time | 6–18 months |
| Best for | Mild to moderate cases, adults |
Metal / Ceramic Braces
| Visibility | Clearly visible |
| Removable | No — fixed throughout |
| Comfort | Brackets & wires, initial soreness |
| Food restrictions | Hard, sticky foods avoided |
| Oral hygiene | More complex, tools needed |
| Check-up frequency | Every 4–6 weeks |
| Treatment time | 12–24 months |
| Best for | Severe cases, younger patients |
Dental issues clear aligners can correct
Clear aligners are effective for a wide range of alignment and bite issues. Severity determines treatment time — but the vast majority of adult cases fall within the treatable range.
Crowding
When there is insufficient space for all teeth to sit in proper alignment. Mild to moderate crowding is one of the most commonly treated presentations with aligners.
Spacing & Gaps
Diastemas between teeth — whether a single central gap or multiple small spaces distributed across the arch — are closed gradually and precisely.
Overbite
When upper front teeth overlap vertically over lower teeth more than normal. Aligners can reduce this overlap and improve both aesthetics and function.
Underbite
When lower teeth protrude beyond upper teeth. Mild to moderate skeletal underbites can be addressed with aligners; severe cases may need combined orthodontic and surgical treatment.
Crossbite
When upper teeth sit inside lower teeth on one or both sides. Crossbites affect jaw symmetry and can cause uneven wear — aligners can correct mild to moderate crossbites effectively.
Post-Braces Relapse
Teeth that have drifted back after previous orthodontic treatment. Often one of the shortest and most predictable treatments — relapse cases typically resolve in 3 to 6 months.
Who is suitable for clear aligner treatment?
Clear aligners are suitable for most adults and teenagers with mild to moderate orthodontic needs. A digital intraoral scan at your first appointment gives us a complete picture of your teeth and bite in seconds.
Good candidates — aligners work well if you have…
- Mild to moderate crowding, spacing, or bite issues
- Post-braces relapse — previously treated teeth that have shifted
- Healthy gums and no active periodontal disease
- All or most permanent teeth present
- Discipline to wear aligners 20–22 hours per day
- A desire for an aesthetic, metal-free option
- Adults and teenagers (with compliance monitoring)
Consider alternatives or combined treatment if you have…
- Severe crowding or complex bite discrepancies — fixed braces may be more effective
- Significant skeletal jaw discrepancies — may require combined orthodontic and jaw surgery
- Active gum disease — must be treated first
- Missing teeth — implants should be planned before or after alignment
- Severe compliance concerns — fixed braces work regardless of wearer behaviour
How the clear aligner process works
From your first digital scan to your final retainer — here is exactly what the treatment journey looks like, including how it is structured for international patients.
Online Consultation & Smile Photos
Send us front, side, and bite photographs of your teeth. We assess your case, confirm whether clear aligners are appropriate, and give you an estimated treatment duration and cost range within 24 to 48 hours. No X-rays or scans needed at this stage — just photos from your phone.
Digital Intraoral Scan & Treatment Simulation
At your first appointment, we take a full digital intraoral scan of your teeth and bite — precise 3D data captured in minutes with no impression material. This data is used to create your ClinCheck or treatment simulation: a digital animation showing every stage of your tooth movement, from first tray to final position. You see and approve your end result before any trays are ordered.
Attachments & First Trays Fitted
Small tooth-coloured composite attachments are bonded to specific teeth — these act as anchor points that allow the aligners to apply the precise forces needed for complex movements. Your first set of trays is fitted and checked for comfort and fit. You leave Tirana with your first several sets of trays and full written instructions for wear and care.
Remote Progress Monitoring
You change to the next tray in the series every 1 to 2 weeks at home. Progress photos sent via WhatsApp every 6 to 8 weeks allow our team to monitor your treatment remotely. If refinements are needed mid-treatment — small adjustments to the plan based on how your teeth are responding — these are incorporated and new trays sent to your address. You do not need to return to Tirana for every check-up.
Attachment Removal, Polish & Retainers
Once your final tray is completed, you return for a short appointment to remove the attachments, polish the tooth surfaces, and take scans for your permanent retainers. A fixed wire retainer is bonded behind your front teeth and clear removable retainers are provided for night-time wear. Retention is for life — the teeth must be held in their new position permanently.

How clear aligner treatment works for dental tourists
Clear aligners are uniquely well-suited to dental tourism — because most of the treatment happens at home. Only two short visits to Tirana are required over the full treatment duration.

3D Treatment Simulation First
Before any trays are ordered, you see a full digital animation of your tooth movement — every stage, from start to finish. You approve the final tooth position before committing to treatment. No surprises at the end.
Remote Monitoring Throughout
You don't need to fly back to Tirana for every check-up. Progress is monitored via photos sent every 6 to 8 weeks. Any refinements needed mid-treatment are shipped directly to your door. Only two in-person visits are required over the full treatment.
Combined Smile Planning
Aligners straighten. But if you want to complete your smile with whitening or composite bonding after alignment, we plan and coordinate both treatments together — so you leave with a finished result, not just straight teeth.
Retainers Included
Every clear aligner case at Kocaqi Dental includes fixed bonded retainers and a set of removable clear retainers at the end of treatment — with no additional charge. Retention is not optional: it is part of the result.
Two Visits. That's All.
Clear aligners are the dental tourism treatment. Most of your treatment happens at home — we need you in Tirana only to start (2–3 days) and to finish (1 day). The rest is managed remotely with full clinical oversight.

Clear aligners — your questions answered
How long does clear aligner treatment take?
Treatment duration depends entirely on the complexity of your case. Minor corrections and post-braces relapse cases typically take 3 to 6 months. Moderate cases — mild crowding, spacing, or bite issues — usually take 9 to 12 months. Comprehensive cases involving more significant tooth movement can take 15 to 18 months. Your digital treatment simulation will give you a precise estimate before you commit to treatment.
Do clear aligners hurt?
Most patients experience mild pressure or tightness when switching to a new tray — typically for 1 to 2 days. This is normal and is actually a sign that the tray is working. The sensation is significantly less than the soreness associated with traditional brace adjustments. There are no sharp edges, no brackets, and no wires to cause soft tissue irritation.
Can I eat and drink normally with aligners?
Yes — because aligners are removed for eating and drinking, there are no food restrictions at all. You eat exactly as normal, remove the trays, eat, brush, and reinsert. The only restriction is that aligners must be worn for 20 to 22 hours per day to stay on schedule. Water can be drunk with aligners in place; anything other than plain water should be consumed with the trays removed.
Will I need to return to Tirana during treatment?
For most patients, only two trips to Tirana are needed: one to start treatment (2 to 3 days for scanning, simulation approval, and fitting) and one to finish (1 day for attachment removal and retainers). Progress during treatment is monitored remotely via photos. If refinement trays are needed, they are shipped directly to your address — no additional trip required in most cases.
What happens after clear aligner treatment — do I need retainers?
Yes — retainers are permanent and non-negotiable. Teeth have a natural tendency to drift back towards their original position after treatment, a phenomenon called relapse. A fixed wire retainer bonded behind the front teeth and a removable clear retainer worn nightly maintain the result for life. Both are included in your treatment package at Kocaqi Dental. Patients who do not wear retainers consistently will experience relapse over time.
Can aligners fix my bite as well as straighten my teeth?
Yes — modern clear aligner systems are highly effective for mild to moderate bite corrections including overbite, underbite, crossbite, and open bite. Severe skeletal jaw discrepancies (where the jaw bones themselves are in the wrong position) are beyond the scope of aligners alone and may require a combined approach with jaw surgery. Your clinical assessment and digital simulation will clarify which category your bite falls into.
Should I whiten my teeth before or after aligners?
After — always. Whitening should be completed once aligners are finished and retainers are in place. The reasons: attachments bonded during treatment create small areas of differential whitening, bleaching during treatment can interfere with attachment bonding, and the final shade of your teeth influences the shade of any composite bonding or porcelain veneers planned after alignment. We sequence these treatments together in a single coordinated plan.
